The Porticos of Bologna

The most unique thing about the beautiful city of Bologna are the porticos The most amazing portico stretches over 2 miles, and climbs to the top of Monte della Guardia. At the top is the circular Santuario di San Luca. Photos just don't do it justice~ amazing!

I wasn't sure I was ready to walk the entire way~ even powered by pasta and pesto. We did get to the top to see the beautiful church.
The porticos in the Centro provide a nice cover for coffee bars and cafe's
and a place to park your bikes.
Today, we appreciated the shade. It has really been hot!

Ciao Y'all~

The porticos are such a good idea as they keep you cool and protected from rain.

I've never seen Bologna! Maybe next time we go to Italy we will visit that city as my husband has cousins that live there.

Congratulations on the climb. That was a tough one - especially on a hot summer day.
