Traveling Tuesday ~ to the Cape!

Over the 4th of July I took a little trip . . . to Boston and the North Shore.
It is so New Englad and a great place to be in the summer. (notice I haven't posted a single photo of a winter- time trip)

One day we took a boat ride to the tip of Cape Cod. Look at these great shots of the light house off of the Plymoth harbor. . .

The ride over on the ferry was Beautiful ~ we even saw a whale.

The harbor at Provincetown was full of ReaLLy Nice boats . . . Maybe Caitlin Jenner was on one of them?

We headed back after a fun day of lobster rolls and a shandy or two.

On the ride back, we went past the same light house . . . you can see how the tide has swallowed up the land around it.

A fun day ~ Next week . . . Provincetown!

I am also joining Our World Tuesday
Y'all enjoy the ride~

PhotoHunt ~STOP

The PhotoHunt for today is STOP

I am always entertained by the signs in Italy . . . I think these mean STOP.
As in you are about to fall in the water.

This might mean stop before you slide off the cliff . . .

STOP ~ Before you encounter cute little Italian children crossing the road with pasta filled lunch boxes.

PhotoHunt ~ Cross

The PhotoHunt for today is Cross.

I had thousands of pictures to go through and picked some of my favorites. This cross is on the family chapel of my friend Anna Lisa's winery.

This is an unusual view of the cross at the tile dome in Positano.

The cathedral in Pienza was built to honor Pope Pius... and God of course.

So many churches and holy places across Italy. . . above is the magical dome that rises above Florence.
The quiet simplicity of the monastery in the mountains, Monte Oliveto.

It's hard to know which is my favorite. They all hold special places in my heart.

PhotoHunt ~Elegant

The PhotoHunt for today is 'Elegant' . . .
That doesn't describe me.

But, it did make me think of this Elegant hotel in Positano. If I had the $$$, this is where I'd stay. (It would probably cost my entire Italy budget)
The Hotel Palazzo Murat is the Perfect location on the entire Amalfi Coast. The pool appears to be flowing right into the church, and the beach below that. The entrance to the gardens is off the covered walkway into town.
Beautiful sculptures that are found in the garden are by the local artist Paolo Sandulli. He is known for these terra cotta busts . . . these hold a variety of plants and flowers.
His work is all very clever, with a whimsical look.
Of course in the gardens of the Palazzo they are simply Elegant.

PhotoHunt ~Time

The PhotoHunt for this week is Time ~
This photo was from YEARS ago . . . 1975 to be exact.
You can see that I was raised in a All American, Flag waving family.
Proud to be raised as a military brat.
How time passes!

The 4th of July still is a big holiday for us. We used to Always go to the beach, but this year I am escaping the heat and headed to Boston.

This year we will be celebrating the 4th on the North River.
