Promises kept

Back in January I made some Promises for the Year. I have done a pretty good job of keeping my promises so far.

This week I was able to check off another promise. Here is proof that I am painting my toes Strawberry Margarita Pink

There will not be a picture of me making my sand angel~ Believe me... that is not one you would have wanted to see! Do you know how sand sticks to sunscreen?

We had a great get-away at the beach. We stayed the Slow Travel way... in a condo. Our home away from home!

I am refreshed & recharged!

Hope Y'all have a good weekend~

Were you at Gulf Shores? I went to the web site but didn't see any listings for Ala or Ga.

Hello Sandi! Thanks for visiting my blog! I love Fried Green Tomatoes! The movie and the food! We also "ruff it" in a condo when we go up to Mammoth Lakes. We tried other methods and realized the condo was best for little ones! Have a great weekend! Lisa

What a great time, Sandi! Love the pictures. We've decided to try staying in condos at least once in awhile for vacations. We certainly enjoyed staying in the one in Mackinaw!

Yes, yes, yes...I was going to blog about my wonderful summer vacations; first my time in Paris under the twinkling lights, then our quick trip to Ireland to visit with the lads and lasses. And what summer trip is complete without a day or two spent in Cancun, eh? The week long wrap up in Key Largo would have just turned you green with envy, don'tcha know. Oh, the fun we had, the mindless days of sun, sea, sand and romance. Yes, it was too wonderful to blog about. And yes, I'm lying my brains out and making it all up. It's what I do when I'm faced with visions of other people's vacations. I can't just say "oh how great for you!" blah, blah, blah. No, I have to start telling elaborate lies just to see how long my nose can grow in one sitting. And what's more, I have no shame for my lying behavior. It's just how I roll, baby.

Glad you had a great time, though. And love the toes!

Your photos from the beach are gorgeous, but then the rest of your blog is too, full of yummy reciepes and happy stories.

Would it be ok if I linked your blog in my blog’s friends list? I don’t have any cooking blogs listed and you are so entertaining.

Glad you got away to the beach. It's a good time of year as long as the tropics behave.
So where did you go eat?

Sandi @the WhistleStop Cafe said...

DebraK~ Have you noticed my promises to myself were pretty fun to keep?
Sandy~ I had started to get whiney... time to recharge!
MaryAnn~ Of course!
Shabby~ It was hot but not that bad... OH? You mean torture YOU?
Kari~ You need to come with a warning label girl! You too can have the pedicure.
Pearl~ I'd be honored... I think I'm 1/2 cooking 1/2 baking in the heat. Does that make us a cooking blog?
Janet~ some great seafood!

Slow Travel - a lovely way to travel.

I am going to Venice in two weeks and will stay in a tiny little flat.

Those are the promises that sometimes get lost in the shuffle. I really is a huge benefit to keep the promises we make to ourselves!
Sounds like what a trip away should be!

Britt-Arnhild~ Buon Viaggio!
1/2 cups~ We owe it to ourselves, don't you think?
