PhotoHunt ~ Global
The PhotoHunt for today is 'Global'
This is the waiting line for security at the Chicago airport . . . surrounded by Global flags.
I remember that it was a horrible line ~
But . . .
With wings like these
It is always worth the wait.
Check for all the other Global Photos on The Saturday PhotoHunt
Happy Hunting y'all~

I'm Blue
I have to admit that I am a little Blue ~ on this blue monday
It's time for me to part with 'Bugalu'.
I've had her for 11 years and we have some special memories together.
We called in the experts to get her cleaned up and ready to go.
These guys are awesome! The Auto Medic came to our driveway with a van full of touch up tools . . . if you are in the Birmignham area
205-907-6060
She is 'spit shined' as we say in the south.
Now, she is ready for a new girl with a cute hat (and some sunscreen)
Of course . . . I've traded up.
Don't ya Know ~
Don't forget to check in at Smiling Sally for more blues.
Y'all enjoy ~

Traveling Tuesdays ~ back to the Gulf
I was down at The Gulf last weekend, as in the gulf coast of Alabama.
Which means another trip to 'The Gulf'
I can't help but take pictures . . .
Everywhere you look is a post card.
I'm happy to be able to share them with you.
I hear that CMT is filming their Sweet Home Alabama show there today . . . That will be fun to watch.
I am also joining Our World Tuesday
Y'all enjoy the ride~

The Origami Cranes
This is a display in Birmingham ~ 15,000 origami cranes that have been hung in RailRoad Park.
These cranes have been made by individuals all over the world and sent here to be hung. Imagine how much time was spent in making thousands of paper cranes. Here are Instructions For Origami Cranes (in case you want to get started)
The display was inspired by the paper crane display at Ground Zero in New York city.
The Birmingham Art Peace Project is in memory of the four girls who were killed in the bombing of the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in September, 1963 . . . Just blocks from where RailRoad Park now stands.
I am glad to see that something positive is being done in the city . . . We seem to have been the focus of so much bad press.
Birmingham is a beautiful mix of old and new. People working together to turn a dark history into something new.
I couldn't stop snapping photos of the colorful cranes . . . and the beautiful blues.
What a masterpiece.
I have a friend who did this for her daughter's wedding . . . I knew that Barb would especially appreciate these photos!
Don't forget to check in at Smiling Sally for more blues and Boogie Board Cottage for her Masterpiece Monday.
Y'all enjoy ~

PhotoHunt ~ SiLLy
The PhotoHunt for today is 'SiLLy'
I have lots of 'silly' photo's from our Great Escapes to Italy.
You can imagine what happens when you get a group of women in an Italian shop ~ I love the shop owner in the background who was tired of our sillyness.
Of course we all walked out with a pair of new Versace's . . . or were they Prada's?
We sure had fun . . . and can't wait to go back.
Check for all the other Silly Photos on The Saturday PhotoHunt

Another Happy Wedding Couple
I have created another happy wedding couple (at least until football season really gets underway)
This was a special couple for a friend, for her son's wedding. She quickly learned that the mother of the groom has little say in the wedding . . . but we did this for the rehersal dinner.
And it was a huge hit.
This cute couple are a 'mixed marriage' as we say in Alabama ~ an Auburn girl and a Roll Tide guy. Since it is Fantasy . . . I dressed them each in their school colors holding hands.
She is wearing a maxi dress and carrying her orange and blue shaker . If I'd known she was a Jax State Ballerina, I would have added white boots with pom-poms.
These couples always involve lot's of pinning and glueing. (and a bit of imagination)
The final result was a cute cake topper that resembles both the bride and the groom. I'll post another photo of the table setting at the country club.
Don't forget that you can always go to my Etsy page at Gimme Some Sugar Y'all to see some of the other cute Wedding Cake Topper's I have done. I also have ideas on Pinterest.
Give me a shout if you have a wedding in the future . . . I have great deals for Bloggy friends.
Y'all enjoy ~

Travel Tuesday ~ Sunsets to remember
Travel Tuesday ~
I am sharing this sunset from our beautiful gulf coast.
This was snapped with a phone camera . . .
“And yet day and night meet fleetingly at twilight and dawn," he said, lowering his voice again and narrowing his eyes and moving his head a quarter of an inch closer to hers. "And their merging sometimes affords the beholder the most enchanted moments of all the twenty four hours. A sunrise or sunset can be ablaze with brilliance and arouse all the passion, all the yearning, in the soul of the beholder.”
― Mary Balogh, A Summer to Remember
Quote courtesy of Barb Cabot.
I love thinking of all the sunsets and enchanted moments we have shared in Perdido.
Y'all enjoy ~

The Newest Bestest Restaurant in Orange Beach ~ Fisher's
This is a post that is long overdue ~
Last time we were at the beach I promised a blog post on the newest BEST restaurant in Orange Beach.
This is Fisher's at Orange Beach Marina (go ahead and 'LIKE' their facebook page) This is the creation of Johnny Fisher, who started The Gulf, and moved on to bigger and better things. He brought together the 'dream team' and created a magical place.
The decor is sophisticated chic and bling, with a layer of beachy comfort ~ It is at the Orange Beach Marina.
Every detail is made with attention to style and to comfort. The atmosphere is a beautiful accent to their food.
The food is absolutely Amazing. . . When we were there we had a tasting menu of all the best things on the menu. It was a night I will remember forever! We sat outside overlooking the marina in the Gulf Coast sunset. I won't bore you with photos of every plate we had (Just a few)
This is tasting dish is Fresh Crab Claws Marinated in a Citrus Sherry Vinaigrette and a Bon Secour Oyster Roasted with Leek Butter
Crawfish Beignet with a Pickled Jalapeno Aioli and a Seared Crab Cake with Remolaude and Housemade Pancetta Corn Relish.
Their Tiramisu is made with CornBread Cake and hand rolled Chocolate Straws. . . You can see that Brandi the Pastry Chef paid very close attention to this dish and took photos with her phone.
We know this place is special . . . because we know the Sous Chef in the kitchen. This is a momma's proud face!
Next time you are on the Gulf Coast ~ make sure you make reservations at Fishers or stop in at Fisher's Dockside.
Y'all enjoy~

Our PhotoHunt this week is 'Fave'
I decided to post photos of my 'fave' past-time.
Watching my Hummingbirds
This is the view from our patio in the early morning.
That is a favorite way to spend the morning with a cup of coffee.
