Festa Italiana

It is no secret that I love Italy. We are headed there in 53 days~ but who's counting?

In my blog hopping (traveling from the laptop?) I saw where this Proud Italian Cook -Marie, and Maryann at Finding La Dolce Vita are hosting a Festa Italiana on March 22. Now that is a party I didn't want to miss! My Slow Travel amici are welcome to join in on this party~ its going to be fun.

I am bringing dessert~

Tiramisu
6 egg yolks
3 Tbs sugar
1 pound mascarpone cheese
1 1/2 cups strong espresso
2 tsp dark rum
24 ladyfingers
chocolate syrup for the topping

Separate yolks using fresh eggs, whip eggs and sugar until thick- about 5 minutes. Add mascarpone and beat until smooth. Add 1 Tbs cooled espresso and mix well.
In another bowl combine remaining espresso and rum. Dip each ladyfinger quickly in the coffee and lay closely in a 9x13 baking dish. Cover with 1/2 of the marscarpone. Repeat this layer, dipping the cookies and covering with mascarpone. Cover and refrigerate several hours. Top with a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
(This recipe is similar to Giada's on the Food Network)

Sorry for the fuzzy picture... to much rum?

Ciao Y'all~ Sandi

OH YUM Sandi! Sorry I missed the Festa Itlaiana, but I'm happy for the links to those blogs! I could have added quite a few recipes to the Festa as my husband is a native born Italian and I love to cook his favorite dishes.
Your Tiramisu looks so yummy!
Lucky you to be trsveling to Italy soon -- I can't wait to go back someday.
Hugs, Pat
