It Snow'd!

Here in Alabama we don't get much snow. When James Spann says the word SNOW, the city mobilizes. Everyone rushes out to the Piggley Wiggley to stock up on bread and milk. I have never understood this... we are much more chips and salsa survivors. The city trucks load up with sand, and schools are canceled in preparation. Then we wait~~~ unfortunately the last big snow fall we had was in 1993.
Yesterday, we had about an inch of the white, fluffy- mostly wet stuff. We were quick to get out the camera!

Old Frosty wouldn't have lasted till dinner. There was enough for a good snow ball fight.

I dragged the old sled out of the attic... somehow that round disc has gotten smaller over the years.
It was fun while it lasted!

Now, What do y'all do with all that leftover bread and milk?

Oh my goodness...it looks like fun! You are so cute on the sled, made my day! Enjoy the beauty of it all.

Publix was crazy on Friday! You'd have thought we were all going to be holed up for weeks the way people were acting! You look cute on that disc. I didn't get out but long enough to take those few pics. And now it's about gone! I couldn't remember the last big snowfall, 93 huh, I do remember that one. Well, it has been awhile.

I did see Beth T. on Oprah the other day! Can you say botox??? Did you notice her lips? I hope her friends will talk to her about that. I hardly recognized her.

All you people have got to STOP with the snow pictures! It's killing me!!! I NEED snow. I'd almost KILL for some snow. (Not to panic...I did say "almost", you know. No need to call out the FBI on me).

Oh and not to frighten you with this little tidbit but did you know that you and I may actually share some of the same fashion sense? I have a purse that matches your galoshes perfectly. Gosh, people would think we were related if we walked down the street together. (I can hear you screaming all the way over here in Texas!).

Okay....I have the "real" answer! Put the milk and bread in a cooler, pack your sled in your suitcase and come visit me in Maine where you still can't see the ground for all the snow!

Ooooh, so happy to have found you. I am an Alabama girl too. We are in Blount County and really didn't have much snow at our house. I've heard more chances on Wednesday?!!
My mom has eaten at the Whistle Stop before and one of my favorite books is by Miss Fannie Flagg. With those connections I will have to visit you often! - Jennifer

I couldn't believe that Walmart sold out of bread and couldn't wait to take Evil Sister to show her that I had not lied about how bread and milk disappears...there was some whole milk left, which means at least everyone was thinking healthy! We got 2 inches on Thursday and it snowed like 40hells on Saturday but no accumlation...drats! I love the snow!!!

Snow is fun...even just a bit of it...actually a bit is better than a whole lot in my book. You look cute getting ready to slide down the hill.Wheeeee.
Milk and bread...why bread pudding of course.

We just had another 8 inches - snow sucks!!! Oh, and don't forget to soak your raisins in brandy first.

We didn't get any of the snow down here in LA:( But it's so funny how even the mention of snow here in the South sends everyone running to the grocery store for "supplies"!!

Jill said...

This Midwestern Girl always gets a kick out of the mad rush to the grocery when snow is in the forecast. And, you're right...forget the milk, eggs and bread. We go for the chips, beer and chocolate.

Love the boots!

Oh you two are too cute! We have had snow non-stop since December. Ugh!

I bet it is fun to have snow when you normally don't get to have it.

I was going to say bread pudding, but you may be tired of that. I'm kind of sick of bread pudding, myself!

The snow in Alabama is beautiful! I would like visit Alabama more. I've only been once.
Also, the sledding looks fun!
