Marching Southerners

Isn't that a great name for a band? I am going to 'toot my horn' for a minute and show some pictures of the greatest band in the south. The Marching Southerners are from Jacksonville State University. We love it when we get to see them perform.

Now, Please don't be this guy... who felt the need to stretch his seat during the entire half-time show. (Along with his monster grandchildren.) Precious!

Some of us go just to watch the half time show!

Of course we can't go empty handed... How 'bout a big box of cookies?
You can't do much better than the Toll House Recipe, unless you add some peanut butter chips. They didn't last long!

Down in Front!! Some people don't use the brains God gave them. Although, bless his heart, maybe he just wasn't thinkin'.

I love a marching band! I think they're the best part of a football game! lol And I know they're the main reason the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is so much fun to watch.
Hope you had a great time (and send me some of those cookies!!).
I'd cook them myself but I'm C.I. (cooking impaired).

i'm not a football fan but I am a native Alabamian. I've been on the campus and it's beautiful! It's only about 50 miles from where we live in Georgia so lots of the kids in this area go there.

He could have at least had the courtesy of saying "sorry my big head and shoulders are blocking your view...but then, he would have had the manners to stay sitting down, would't he? I love the name of the band, but then, I'm a proud Southerner, myself!

Marching bands give me goose bumps up my spine and down my arms. In high school I was in our marching band and we traveled for competitions. I was in the percussion section (cymbols and base drum) and LOVED it. I still remember our cadence beat. What a fun day! BTW, chocolate chip cookies make it allllll betta! xo,
Becky

Oh I hate it when people stand in front of me like that, as if they have absolutely NO clue! I like to watch the band perform too.

I love marching bands too. Our high school marching band was fabulous - and I was a member, of course!!
My son's roommate's girlfriend in college made them cc cookies with butterscotch chips added. He came home bragging them up, so now we add butterscotch or peanut butter sometimes too. My fav tho is still milk chocolate cc cookies!!

Becky~ now that you mention it...I raised a percussionist. I have dents in the coffee table to prove it!
Pam~ he was clueless, and for the other team
Rosemary~ thanks for visiting me back
Kris~ A Band Nerd?! (I say that with affection)

Sandi,
Too funny...I go for the marching band as well...although it is fun to watch the football too. My daughter ( little 5'1") plays the sousaphone...makes her easy to spot! Have a great day.
