I can not let the anniversary of this day go by without a special tribute.
Where were you when the world stopped turning?

I was on a Longaberger bus trip with a bunch of ladies. We were visiting the beautiful Longaberger country club when we heard the horrible news on tv.
We were afraid because we were all away from our families.
Quietly we all got back on the bus & the bus driver prayed. I offered the use of my cell phone to anyone who didn't have one......I'll never forget.....so afraid...
I was on the way home from the grocery store and heard it on the radio. A scary time for Americans and others around the world also.
I was working, the news for all patrol cars to return to the jail was the first indication that anything was wrong...the rest of the day was pure hell, hard to do your job when you know what is going on and you're helpless. Hope you can drop in today and pick up your award.

I was home. My husband was in Australia, training with members of his Air Force Reserve unit. The earth did indeed stop turning for me that day. Because of what they did in the AF, I knew that both my husband and my son were going to be leaving soon, to deliver America's response to this atrocity. My husband called back that evening from Aus because they couldn't fly straight home - all planes were grounded, remember? But his unit was already asking for volunteers to deploy and he told them to put his name on the list. My son was (and is) an Active Duty air crew member on C-130's...they were both in a Special Ops Wing and that meant they'd be some of the first to go do what had to be done. It was the scariest time of my life. And I've never been more proud to be an American.
It's so hard to believe it's already been six years. We need never forget!
I was on the way home from dropping the girls off at school. Listening to the radio when I heard the news.
I was feeding my then baby daughter, and froze when I turned the news on TV. My two little boys had just started at a new school a few days earlier, and I just panicked.
DebraK & Dot~ We all were scared.
Sandi~ ohhh, I love surprises!
kari~ thanks for the comment, you really will always remember those days!
Cheryl~ It was early morning in Alabama...I was listening to Rick and Bubba.
Beachy~ y'll were a lot closer to it all.
Thanks, Sandi, for the video. This song says it all. I love Alan Jackson.
I was speaking to my son as he was looking at the horror of the plane approaching the second tower..he was on the famous bridge in New York heading to the twin towers on business...we never forget 9/11
Thanks for visiting my blog. Where was I? On my knees praying for my first cousin was at the Pentagoon. We didn't know if he was dead or alive, it was a couple of hours before he called then just a few hours later, he was out of the country. He stayed 1 year over there and is back there now. I have alot of family members in the military so I was scared for everyone of them. My son is in the military now. We will find out in November when and where he is depolyed to. Please keep all service men and women in your prayers and also their families. Thank you.

I thought about posting this video...but then just wrote the words instead as so many of my readers only have dial up and can't see the video's I post.
I posted my memories of that day so I won't add my here. But, I love that song!
Hey, stop by my blog today...I picked up one of your mixes at a craft fair this weekend! ;)
Home. In shock. Felt so helpless.
I was in my office watching the news as it happened, talking to my husband on the phone and gasping. I hung up with him and called my sister (who used to work across the street) and told her to get out of her building and that area. She had to run several blocks, and then endure the horror of seeing the second plane go in, while I watched it on the tv. My history is there..first job, lunches with coworkers, dinners at windows. We lost neighbors that day, kids who go to school with my kids lost parents. I still cant get through the day without crying. I wrote a poem about it yesterday, hoping it would help, it didnt. Susan
Oh Sandi, this is a post to make us reflect and remember isn't it-thank-you for posting!
NutureGirl, Laura, & Susan~ I can not even imagine being so close to the horror... I prayed for people I didn't know.
Tammy~ whadja get???
I will never, ever, ever forget that day!
Hugs!
