Last weekend was unusually beautiful for August in Alabama. Cool with low humidity. We enjoyed the chance to sit on the porch and read a good book.
So who had such a busy summer day, you wonder?

I love hummingbirds, but haven't seen too many hovering around here lately. Glad you had that perfect day to sit, read, and relax!
We had the chance to really sit outside and enjoy the weather here too...it was about a good 65 degrees!!! That's weird for this time of year in Chicago - but I enjoyed it!

Gail & Melissa~ Those hummingbirds are so busy!
Home girl~ I'll be looking for pictures.
I love to do the very same thing. Just sit on my porch and watch all the beautiful birds and the butterflies......Mary
Hi Sandi & Bill!
I love to watch hummingbirds, but sadly we don't get them up here! I enjoyed seeing them in Arizonia.
The humidity has been lower lately -- thank goodness! It been a long hot summer so far in the city!
Hugs, Pat in NY
Every year I have to reload our feeders. They go through it like it is goin out of style. I love to watch them..so territorial. The day you had sounds like my fave kinda Summer day. I wrote down the recipe for the coconut cake and realized I had a whistlestop recipe book. It varies a bit but yours sounds easier to do so that is what I am gonna do! cherry
Mary~ I am never able to get photo's of the butterflys.
Pat~ those hummingbirds know better than to fly all the way to NY!
Cherry~ This is funny about that coconut cake... the recipe in the cookbook is Dad's. I took my cake over last weekend and he thought I'd made his. I'll never tell :-)
I sount it as a little smile from God everytime I get the cahnce to see a hummingbird. I actually hapened to glance out my back window this week and one was hovering outside. What a delight!
