A friend's son brought us some fresh picked peaches last week. Actually, he said they just backed the truck up and filled up the bed with peaches~ that is a lot of peaches!
I have been trying to come up with a million ways to use these little peaches before they go bad. Of course peach cobbler, and peaches with pork chops... How 'bout some peach salsa?
Quick and easy style~
Peach Salsa
1 jar store bought salsa
1 cup diced peaches
1 bunch fresh cilantro
Dice peaches, combine with a fresh salsa. Add extra fresh cilantro to taste.
Serve with chips
This might even go well with a peach margarita... I may need to give that a try next!
Y'all enjoy!

That sure sounds good and your picture has my mouth watering. I love a good peach cobbler!
Wow, I can't imagine a whole pick- up bed of peaches. Aren't they yummy!
A couple years ago we went to a "pick your own" peach orchard between Atlanta and Macon. It was fun and the peaches were sooooo good. What we couldn't eat I put in the freezer.
Oh delicious! How about sending some to KC? :)
Andi~ I happen to know of a really great cobbler mix!
Dot~ I don't think there is anything better than a freshly picked peach.
Kristen~ I'd be glad to deliver them myself =D
Not too much is better than a perfectly ripe peach.
Oh wow. I don't know....are you peeling like mad and freezing them for winter?
These recipes sound yummy!
Peaches in salsa. That sounds really intriguing. I would love to try this.
I've got to quit reading your blog! I gain 12 pounds every time I open a page there. Oh sure, I know "peaches are healthy". Yeah, well, I'm sure they are...but not when you can eat 30 of them at a time (I have impulse control issues - particularly with FOOD!). I miss those Chilton county peaches...my grandparents used to live in Selma and every summer we'd make many a visit to the market for a basket or two...
Ooooo! Peach salsa. Gotta try that.
Never heard of peach salsa!! Is it good???
Yummy! I haven't had a peach cobbler this year yet. I might have to drive on up to Chilton and get some fresh peaches. Enjoy your day!
I love, love, love peaches! Yummy!

Sandi,
Oddly enough, the best peaches I've ever eaten came from a farmstand about a mile from house in ... New Hampshire of all places. They too were small with a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity.
I love the fried peach pie when we have stopped at the exit off the interstate in Chilton county. The best way for me to eat a peach is to stand over the kitchen sink and let the juice drip down my chin and fingers as I eat it.
Sandi, the peach salsa sounds tasty! We've made two trips to IL this week for Calhoun County peaches. Because of th late freeze, there aren't as many peaches this year. As a compensation, though, there were fewer peaches on the trees and the peaches that survived are huge and oh so juicy. I'll copy the salsa recipe to make with some of these great peaches.

What I meant to say...with fewer peaches on the trees they got lots more nutrients!
Been a long day...Pat
yummy! Hubby and I were just talking about the peaches at Peach Park just the other day and were wondering if the drought has affected them.
It's only a 30-40 minute drive from our house, so I think I'll head on up there to get some peaches and make a yummy peach pie and try that salsa too!
...my mouth is watering just thinking about it!
By the way, I have NOT forgotten about your restaurant meme tag!
I am definitely going to try to make this peach salsa. It looks great. Nita
The peach tower is a beauty! Do you have a shot of it?
Thanks for sharing the peachy-keen goodness.
This sounds great. I've got peaches on the brain right now and am still looking for more things to make. I did just do a tomato-peach salsa for pork believe it or not.
I've made salsa with peaches before...I've even used a jar of peach jam added to my homemade salsa and it was divine!
