They have been great; especially since they were fresh peaches a friend's son just brought to me. I have made peach salsa, peaches &pork chops, peach cobbler, and a prosciutto &peach pizza. Someone suggested that I either start some blender sports or add alcohol... so this last peach recipe is for you my 'anonymous' friend!
Butter-Rum Peaches
1/2 stick butter
5 Tbs brown sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
1 Tbs vanilla
2 Tbs rum
5-6 small peaches
In a skillet, melt butter over low heat. Add sugar and stir until smooth. Stir in cinnamon sticks and vanilla. Bring to a boil and cook until sauce is thickened. Add rum (a rum flavoring would do) and sliced peaches. Continue to simmer until peaches are soft. Serve over a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream for a quick and tasty treat.
This is a peachylicious dessert that will be perfect for a family night or a fancy dinner. Everyone will be licking the bowl. If you don't have friends bringing you fresh peaches, frozen will work as well.
Y'all give it a try!
Sandi

YUM to all these recipes. I need to get some peaches after I'm done with this ridiculous raspberry fixation I have right now!
MMMMM....I've tried many peach desserts but not butter-rum peaches. That's just luscious! Thanks for the idea.
Sandi, thanks for the encouraging words about school. I forgot I read in you profile that you are a NP. Actually becoming an NP is my long term goal. It's never too late and you're never too old...
Blessings!
Your peach-y-ness makes my mouth water! Can't wait for some good ones here soon!

I bought a 1/2 bushel of peaches from McLeod Farms this week and made these Oh My God Butter Rum Peaches and they were so good that my friend has DEMANDED that I bring them to her Housewarming party tonight...they are from New Jersey and we enticed them to South Carolina with promises of food, lol...looks like I have to come through now.

Thanks for all the peachy recipes. I'm gonna try the butter-rum one tonight, I think. I have half a basket of Chilton County peaches. We've eated gobs of peaches this summer.
Sandi & Bill, I love your blog!...everything looks so yummy!...who knew, peached salsa? Will have to try it. Thanks, Toni
Looks great and probably smells even better! Sometimes when we have some peaches and red wine around, I will toss the peaches with some sugar and then let them sit in the red wine for an hour or so. Serve chilled.
MMMMMMMM! That's one fruit I think everyone in my house likes! Thank you for that yummy recipe!
I haven't forgotten my favorite restaurants challenge! =)
The peaches and rum sound delicious. I am with "Shabby in the City" please come over anytime and do bring peaches!!!
I am a lover of the fuzzy skin : )
I am 58 and as a child I would pick a warm fuzzy skinned peach off the tree in my Mom's garden and sometimes just wipe it off on my blouse and eat so quickly the warm juice would run down my chin into my neck : ) Then I would scratch the itch from the fuzzy juice : )
Peach pie, cobbler, canned peaches, peaches in homemade ice cream (remember rock salt?) and peaches sliced on morning cereal : )
You gave me great memories
carole
Susan~ The chilton county peaches have been really good
Toni~ thanks for hopping in!
Beachy~ I'm holding you to it =D
Carole~ y'all have me confused... is there more than one 'shabby'?

My mouth is watering! And, by the looks of all the responses, so are a lot of others' as well!!
We're just getting to the last of the peaches, too.
