A Nest

DebraK from Bunnies Bungalow ask the question... Where's your nest? I think we all have a nest that we settle into when we want some down time, or need to feel in control. KJ talked about her Eye-Dyllic nest, a computer central for her busy home. Sophie Honeysuckle talked about hiding out in her nest when she wasn't feeling well.

My nest is in my blue and yellow sun room. The perfect spot to curl up with a good book, a cup of coffee in the morning, or to share a snuggle. It makes me feel like I'm relaxing at the beach... which would be my heart's nest.
I have been tagged with a new 'middle name' tag by 'Elle Marie' at Feeding My Enthusiasms
So this meme works this way (condensed version):
*You must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name.

*If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.
* At the end of your post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag.

My Middle name is LOU (luckily very short)
That makes me a Sandi Lou~ born in Texas, raised around the world, settled in Alabama.
L~ I love the beach. The sound of the ocean, the fresh air, the beachy food, the bad for me sunshine. You name it. It is my heart's nest. I can go to the coast for just a few days and feel instantly refreshed and recharged.
O~ I once died my hair Orange. Not on purpose... It was a 'do it yourself' thing that goofed. I just wanted a 'little' color. I must say that it was before orange was even cool.
U~ U'all brighten my day when you stop in and leave a comment. Bill is always wondering what I am snorting about over my lap top... it is the funny comments on this blog. My internet friends~ Who would have ever thought!

So let me pass this on to 3 of my internet buddies
First, DebbieK What's the K for?
Surely Honeysuckle isn't Sophie's middle name.
What goes with Shabby?

All Y'all show me your nests!
Sandi

Sandi - orange hair would be wonderful next spring in Tuscany. Perhaps you and Palma could go orange together!

Sorry Sandy, but I tagged you, too. You're gonna have to come up with some new meanings for your lovely middle name, girl!
By the by, I love your nest...my nest is cream and burgundy with big old heavy antique furniture, and a big soft bed for snuggling and reading...by for now!

Hi Sandi! I did see your note that you were up this way - tsk tsk for not calling! (just kidding!!!) -- I'm sure we'll connect sometime! I'm getting antsy to go to a tradeshow sometime -- I haven't been to one in YEARS! Do you still show at them?

Sorry I never obliged your last meme to me... I had a teensy medical situation that altered the course of my summer, but things are pretty normal once again! =)

Now get outta my head Sandi! That's not yours! :D I too favor blue/yellow and white! My family room are those colors with a little raspberry to go with it! :D

I love your blue and yellow sunroom! I use that color combination here and there around my house, too.
Oh, and my "nest" is an L-shaped desk in a corner.

Thanks for showing your nest. Your blue & yellow are pretty. It looks like a great spot to curl up & relax.

Ok, I'll play the name game, my middle name is short too.

Orange hair,.... you'd be right in style today.

You made me laugh about the orange hair. Too funny!

BTW- Your nest looks so cozy and comfy. It seems like you get plenty of natural sunlight. Nice!

I once colored my hair purple. Yeah, it was an accident. Actually, I was coloring my hair red (something I've done for the past 342 years), but started watching the very last episode of Happy Days which was airing that night (yes, this happened THAT long ago) and I guess I was a little more interested in it than I thought I'd be. I watched the whole thing - didn't even think about what the color was doing to my hair. Yep. Purple. Not pretty.

Blue ~ I'd love to see a picture of your raspberry... I bet it is beautiful.
Janet~ can a desk be a nest? LOL
Debra~ now we can see what the K is for
Adriann~ A little bit to much sun in the hot afternoons! I am ready for cooler weather.
Kari~ You are a hoot... I can see you with purple hair. You could carry it off!

I always hated Jeannine - and no one spells it right, so the name I want is Daye (which Dad tells me was his choice but Mom X-ed it! So I accept the challenge - just for fun!

D - dessert or desert? Spelling, have to think about it! If given the choice I will always chose pie over cake, because I know how much love goes into baking a perfect lemon meringue pie.......I have fond memories of hiking through the desert and finding horney toads!
A - pledge Allegiance to the Flag - being raised military we have always put our hand over our heart (and look up when a jet flies over), even when it wasn't cool....and it never fails to bring a tear to my eyes.
Y - Have you ever noticed that you can tell when a person is lying if they YAWN when they are telling the story?
E - Equipment in my car - Full tennis bag - ready to go, windshield ice scraper, lots of half full warm bottles of water, a worn but warm Auburn blanket, a fold up sports chair usually full of sand.......oh and all that tire changing stuff!

Dessert is the one with 2 SS's?
Dang~ I bet I get that one wrong every time~
Now I will always remember~ cake AND icecream.

I am flattered that you linked to me! It's amazing how we all get around, isn't it? Following the link trails is much a like the branches of a family tree. The "related" links! I'm guessing that you connected to me through Miss Shabby. She added a very amusing Y'ALL to my blog today! We Californians need you Southerners to stir up the pot! Hey, bring on the gumbo!

Thanks so much, and I am enjoying your blog.

Hi Sandi Lou! That sounds just perfect! The orange hair part brings back a memory. My first job was in the cosmetics dept. of a drug store. A woman came in and said she was to meet with the bishop the next day & needed help. Her hair was, from the top, orange, yellow white, and palest straw...she had tried to color it three times and burned it terribly. Fortunately we found a temp rinse & she kept the meeting with the bishop...but I never forgot the orange hair.
