Poppies!

We were lucky enough to be in Italy during poppy season.
I don't think there is anything prettier than red poppies blowing in the breeze.
They grow in amongst the wheat fields adding a spot of color.
They also sprout between the rock walls.
The bee's know a good thing.
They don't last long in a posey... but the memory lasts forever.
I found this recipe for Sweet Onion Poppy Seed Risotto. That sounds like comfort food to me~ I am giving it a try!
Y'all enjoy!

Amazing the poppies are still blooming - and it's the middle of June! Granted, there aren't huge fields of them anymore but along the roadside they're everywhere! This year's mild temps and rainy May have delayed a lot of things.

Welcome home girlfriend! I know you had an amazing time & I can't wait to get an update and see more pics. It looked like SO much fun & I know it was. The Vatican was pretty neat. I went there once. Are you sleeping normal yet?? :)

Mari~ aren't they tho?
Barbara~ there were plenty around... we had that one cold snap and I swear they bloomed again.
Palma~ I have never been in time for the sunflowers. I guess I need to brave the heat of the summer for that.
Rhoda~ I am getting caught up. I have some new recipes to try, so I will give y'all a call.
